About Us
SettusfreeOur History
Settusfree was originally formed in July 2014 when a group of like-minded people got together with the mission to try to help rescue stray and abandoned Setters in Spain that, most likely, had been used as hunting dogs. Not long after, the focus widened to other parts of Europe where Setters are commonly used as working dogs. Working closely with European rescue organisations the team at Settusfree assists them by finding adopter homes in the UK.
Over the years, as the work expanded and more funds were being raised, charity status was sought and granted in June 2017.
Allocation of Funds
Settusfree is run entirely by volunteers who give their time freely and without remuneration.
With the exception of payments for items such as fees for audits (required by law) Web Site hosting, Insurance and general operating costs, all monies received by the charity go towards caring for and re-homing our rescued Setters.
However, most of the running costs such as postage, stationery and telephone calls are absorbed by our volunteers as a way of further donating to the charity.
We rely totally on the generosity of our members and supporters and our accounts are freely available via the Charities Commission web site.
